digital DHIS2 Tracker Use Academy programme, Level 1.

This digital Tracker Use Academy programme is meant to provide an overview to understand DHIS2 tracker features, how to utilize them in practice and how to enter and analyze tracker data.

The course targets DHIS2 technical leads and implementation support personnel that will be configuring and supporting tracker directly.

This Academy does not focus on project planning or broader management issues;

Learning Objectives of the Tracker Use Academy programme
  • Describe the latest tracker features as well and how to use them
  • Describe the tracker data model in DHIS2
  • Describe how tracker data can be captured on both Web and Android devices
  • Demonstrate how to enter tracker data using both Web and Android devices
  • Identify the applications used to analyse tracker data
  • Create tracker data outputs in the form of tables, charts and maps
  • Create dashboards using tracker data
During the Tracker Use Academy, you will learn more on DHIS2 Tracker, the different methods of capturing tracker data, how to utilise these different data capture methods to enter tracker data. You will also be able to review tracker data, generate outputs using the in-built analysis tools within DHIS2 and to know how supplementary apps can be used to enhance DHIS2’s ability to create tracker data outputs.

This Academy will allow you to:
  • Increase your understanding of the features available within DHIS2 tracker
  • Enter tracker data
  • Increase your ability to create outputs from tracker data

The Tracker Use Academy Programme Breakdown

The Tracker Use Academy programme is including 3 events in total.

Webinar 1 - Thursday 22 September
This webinar will give you an overview of DHIS2 Tracker Programs and an introduction to the latest features in Tracker.

Webinar 2 - Friday 23 September
This webinar will give you an overview of the logistics of the academy, an overview of the learning objectives and agenda and a review of the concepts and terms that will be used regularly throughout the academy.

Monday 26 - Friday 29 September: Tracker Use Academy
Approx. 3 hours per day spread over 5 days, from the launching day. The Academy exam will take place on Saturday 30 October. The detailed schedule will be published very soon.

Participation requirements

All the participants are required to have completed the online self-paced DHIS2 Events Fundamentals course or to have a good knowledge of Tracker. If you wish to complete the Events Fundamentals course before attending the Academy, do not hesitate to enroll. The course requires approx. 25 hours to be completed.

The Digital Academy requires to be available every day of the training. By registering, you are committing to attend all the sessions and submit the assignments and exercises within the deadlines.

Once you complete the Tracker Use Academy, you will be eligible to enroll to several other complementary tracker courses:

  • Android Implementation
  • Tracker Implementation Management

A practical training program will make sure the facilitators and participants can work together on learning the key principles and skills. With an emphasis on experience and solution sharing among countries and to promote networking and collaboration among DHIS2 implementers in the region, this academy will be conducted by the regional DHIS2 experts team.

Saurabh, specializes in conducting requirement studies, and has been involved in customisation of DHIS2 in various organization including; IPPF, Plan, PSI and others. He has strong interest in capacity building and field implementation.


We have waived off the registration fees. Therefore, the Academy is free of charge.

Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to every person registering as a participant to a DHIS2 Academy.

Academy Registration

Only fully completed registration forms will be considered. After reviewing each registration, the Academy Organisers will send a confirmation/information email. This email will include all the details related to the payment of the registration fees.

Participation is not guaranteed until full payment of the registration fees is received.

Each Academy has a ceiling. If the maximum capacity is reached, the Academy Organisers reserve the right to refuse additional registrations and to close the registration form.

Cancellation of the Academy

In the event that the Academy cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the Academy organisers, the Academy organisers cannot be held liable by participants for any damages and other expenses incurred by the participants.

All expenses in relation to the Academy, the registration and the attendance are the sole responsibility of the participants.

Data Protection

The Academy Organisers will collect and store datas for the preparation and execution of the Academy.

HISP-UiO performs monthly e-mailings (which include photographs/videos) and/or communications on social media regarding the DHIS2 Academy. If you do not wish to appear in the marketing visuals, please send an email to aliceal@ifi.uio.no.
